  • Common lynx (Lynx Lynx) is the most Northern species of the family Felidae. In Scandinavia it is found even in the Arctic circle. Once it was very common throughout Europe, but by the middle of XX century it was exterminated in most of the countries of Central and Western Europe. Now successful attempts to revive the population of lynx.
  • Canadian lynx (Lynx canadensis) lives in North American taiga. The closest relative of the Eurasian lynx; some sources consider it a subspecies of the Eurasian lynx
  • The Iberian lynx (Lynx pardinus). This lynx is found in the South—West of Spain (the main part of the population in the National Park Coto doñana). The Iberian lynx is one of the rarest species of mammals. It is included in the Appendix I of CITES (Convention on international trade in endangered species of wild fauna and flora), as well as in the lists of the international Union for the conservation of nature (IUCN), category 1 (animals under threat of extinction).
  • Red lynx (Lynx rufus) is a species of lynx native to Central North America.
